This dark red dessert apple is very popular with children and is perfect for making toffee apples!  The small sized fruits are crisp and juicy with a refreshing, sweet flavour. When at its best, the flavour is often described as vinous, resembling something between strawberry and melon. Heavy cropping and easy to grow, the tree has good resistance to scab and mildew but can be prone to canker in wet regions.
