Black Mulberry trees are grown for their ornamental value and delicious dark red, almost black fruits. The fruits are very juicy and have a very distinct sweet-sharp flavour which surpasses that of any other berry. They can be eaten fresh or used in jams. The trees are very attractive with large, heart shaped leaves. Plant in a sunny, well drained site with a deep loam soil. Black mulberry trees are available late November to late May.
