Dwarf Pear Tree 'Petite Poire' Code: PER012

£30.95 30.9500 In Stock New

Pyrus communis 'Petite Poire'

A new naturally dwarf pear ideal for containers and small gardens. We think the bite-sized pears are going to be a big hit with adults and children alike. The bright yellow fruits have a very small core and are incredibly sweet and juicy with a strong pear flavour. Also delicious poached. Heavy cropping and very disease resistant. Reaches a maximum height and spread of 1.8-2.4m (6-8ft) in 10 years.

RHS Perfect for Pollinators

Pollination: Self-fertile.

Season: Sept.

Available for delivery: late November/December - early May.

Pear trees, like apple trees, are easy to grow and suffer with very few problems. We offer a range of delicious varieties that are grafted onto Quince ‘A’ semi-dwarfing rootstock to promote fruit production from an early age. This will produce a tree of medium vigour that is easy to pick and control. Bush pear trees will grow 2.4-3.6m (8-12ft) in height and spread. Choose a sunny, sheltered site. To ensure rapid establishment, pear trees are supplied bare-rooted and will be 1.2-1.5m (4-5ft) high on despatch (including the roots). Trees are available from late November to late April.

Don't forget to include tree stakes and ties on your order. All young fruit trees require staking and for better establishment we strongly advise using Rootgrow when planting (as recommended in RHS planting guidelines).
