Quince Tree 'Vranja'

Quince Tree 'Vranja'

Quince Tree 'Vranja' Code: MSC029

£30.50 30.5000 In Stock New

Cydonia oblonga 'Vranja'

A popular variety which originates from Serbia more than 200 years ago. It produces large, pale green-yellow fruit similar in shape and size to Meeches Prolific with a strong quince aroma. Delicious for flavouring and making jellies and preserves. The pink tinged flowers are particularly beautiful and are up to 2in (5cm) wide. A reliable but relatively light cropper.

Pollination: Self-fertile.

Season: Oct - Dec.

Available for delivery: late November/December - early May.

Quince produce large, showy soft-pink flowers and beautiful perfumed golden fruits. They are often used in Middle-Eastern dishes as well as being delicious added to fruit pies and crumbles. The fruit is also used to make jelly but our favourite is home-made quince vodka!  Quince are usually grown as free-standing 'bush' trees. Choose a sunny, sheltered location. With the exception of Sibley's Patio Quince, trees are supplied bare-rooted and will be 1.2-1.5m (4-5ft) high on despatch (including the roots). Trees are available from late November to late April.

Don't forget to include tree stakes and ties on your order. All young fruit trees require staking and for better establishment we strongly advise using Rootgrow when planting (as recommended in RHS planting guidelines).
