Sibley's Patio Gage 'Oullins Golden Gage'
£45.95Sibley's Patio Gage 'Oullins Golden Gage'This patio version of Oullins Golden Gage has been developed by fruit authority Will Sibley, who has for many years been working on a range of fruit trees for the home gardener. It has been grafted onto VVA1 dwarfing rootstock using special grafting techniques to keep the tree even more compact. Rated by the Victorian writer Hogg as having "exquisite flavour and handsome appearance," this old French variety is more like a plum than a true gage. The fruits are large by gage standards and particularly attractive - golden yellow with faint red spots. Eaten fresh, the flesh is sweet and gage-like with a fruity flavour, far superior to most shop-bought plums. The fruits are also excellent cooked and freeze very well. An excellent choice for the garden, the tree crops reliably countrywide, even in poor summers. Can be kept restricted to a height of 1.2m (4ft).Buy Now
