Nashi Pear Tree 'Kumoi'

Pyrus pyrifolia 'Kumoi' (Nashi Pear) 

 These distinctive pears, also known as Asian Pears, resemble russet apples in appearance. They have a very crisp white flesh with a mild strawberry flavour and are excellent as a dessert or salad fruit. They can be stored in the fridge for some time. The trees are strong growing with attractive tinted foliage. A beautiful rich golden finish gives this Nashi pear added ornamental value.  The flavour is better than the other varieties and the fruit can be stored for many weeks in the fridge.

Pollination: Self-fertile.

Season: Sept - Nov.
