This plum & cherry collection consists of 3 different self-fertile varieties to crop throughout the season, 1 each of the following:
Cherry 'Cherokee'
A very popular dessert cherry. Produces large dark red fruits that are almost black when fully ripe with excellent sweet flavour. Can be grown in wet areas as the fruits are less prone to splitting than other varieties. Very heavy cropping. Season: mid July. Self-fertile.
Plum 'Czar'
So named, as the year it first fruited was 1874, the year Czar Alexander II visited Britain. Remains popular as it can produce very heavy crops and is always reliable. A medium sized dark purple plum with sweet yellow flesh. Excellent for dessert and culinary purposes. Suitable for most parts of the UK. Season: early Aug. Self-fertile.
Plum 'Victoria'
The U.K.’s best known plum, raised in 1840 and grown commercially. The fruits are pinkish red with sweet, yellow, juicy flesh. A very popular dessert variety but also excellent cooked, producing a lovely pink syrup and almond aroma. Heavy cropping. Blossom is frost resistant. Can be grown in the north. Season: late Aug. Self-fertile.
Available for delivery: late November - early May.
