Misted Tips are a new method of strawberry plant production used by commercial growers to maximize the maiden crop (the year after planting). Now available to home gardeners, Misted Tip strawberry plants are produced by harvesting the best un-rooted runner tips from certified mother plants and rooting them into individual modules under controlled conditions using a special mist propagation unit. Under these growing conditions very strong healthy plants are produced which will establish themselves very quickly once planted, improving the maiden crop by up to 100% compared to planting bare root strawberry runners in the autumn. Misted Tip strawberry plants are available from mid August to mid September.
