NEW! Three apple varieties grafted onto a single tree:

Apple 'Ellison's Orange'

This wonderful dessert apple is over 100 years old. It is an excellent alternative to Cox as it is much easier to grow and is particularly recommended for the north where it is a popular garden variety. Crisp red-flushed fruits. Intensely rich and aromatic with a hint of aniseed. Highly resistant to scab and mildew. Very attractive blossom. Season: late Sept - late Oct.

Bred in the U.K.  RHS Award of Garden Merit  RHS Perfect for Pollinators

Apple 'Kidd's Orange Red'

Raised in 1924, this is one of the finest flavoured dessert apples, similar to Cox but sweeter in flavour with a more reddish flush. Strongly aromatic with a good balance of sugar and acidity. Produces very attractive blossom. Season: Nov - Jan.

RHS Award of Garden Merit  RHS Perfect for Pollinators

Apple 'Laxton's Superb'

Raised in 1897, this remains a popular dessert apple and is often grown where Cox fails to thrive. One of it’s parents is Cox’s Orange Pippin but unlike Cox it is not prone to disease. The fruits are sweet and finely textured. Resistant to mildew and canker. Can be grown successfully in the north. Season: Nov - Jan.

Available for delivery: late November/December - late April.

Family fruit trees are ideal for small gardens where there is only room for a single tree. They consist of two (duo trees) or three compatible varieties grafted onto one tree, allowing you to grow several different varieties in a relatively small amount of space. The varieties are carefully selected to cross-pollinate with one another so that they all get a good fruit set. Family trees are grafted onto semi-dwarfing rootstocks. They are supplied as bare-rooted, two year old trees and are approximately 1.2-1.5m (4-5ft) tall on despatch. Trees are available from late November/December to late April.

Don't forget to include tree stakes and ties on your order. All young fruit trees require staking and for better establishment we strongly advise using Rootgrow when planting (as recommended in RHS planting guidelines).
