Sibley's Patio Quince

Sibley's Patio Quince

Price:  £35.95 35.9500 In Stock New

code: MSC023

This new patio quince has been developed by fruit authority Will Sibley, who has for many years been working on a range of fruit trees for the home gardener. Naturally compact in habit, it has been grafted onto a dwarfing rootstock and will thrive in a container for many years to come. It produces an abundance of attractive blossom followed by large round fruits that are very sweet for a quince and make superb jelly. The tree is very disease resistant and will produce up to 50 fruits within 3 years. Can be kept restricted to a height of 1.2m (4ft).

Supplied as a one year old tree in a 4 litre pot. The tree is grafted at about 30cm (1ft) above soil level and has 2-3 shoots about 20cm (8in) long that will quickly develop into a bushy head.

Pollination: Self-fertile.

Season: Oct - Dec.

Plant size: 4 litre pot.

Available for delivery: all year.

Please note: Sibley's Patio Quince is excluded from the 'Buy any 2 Pot Grown Fruit Trees SAVE £5' offer.

More Information

Quince produce large, showy soft-pink flowers and beautiful perfumed golden fruits. They are often used in Middle-Eastern dishes as well as being delicious added to fruit pies and crumbles. The fruit is also used to make jelly but our favourite is home-made quince vodka!  Quince are usually grown as free-standing 'bush' trees. Choose a sunny, sheltered location. With the exception of Sibley's Patio Quince, trees are supplied bare-rooted and will be 1.2-1.5m (4-5ft) high on despatch. Trees are available from late November to late April.

We are now taking orders for delivery in the Autumn. Click here to view our range of pot grown quince trees (available May to late August).

Don't forget to include tree stakes and ties on your order.  All young fruit trees require staking and for better establishment we strongly advise using Rootgrow when planting (as recommended in RHS planting guidelines).
