Long Cane Raspberry 'Octavia' (6 canes)

Long Cane Raspberry 'Octavia' (6 canes) Code: RSP017

£22.50 22.5000 In Stock New

Rubus idaeus 'Octavia'

This late summer fruiting raspberry bridges the gap between existing summer and autumn fruiting varieties, producing fruit well into August. The berries are large, firm and succulent and easily plugged. Very good flavour.

Long cane raspberries are supplied with approximately 1.2m (4ft) of the previous season’s cane still attached so you can plant them and harvest your first crop from July onwards in the same growing season!  In order to maximise the crop in the first season, long cane plants are selected on the basis of cane height, thickness, root system and the number of pre-formed flower buds. For best results, plant early in the year in to ground that is well-drained and well-prepared.

Bred in the U.K.  RHS Perfect for Pollinators

Season: late Summer (mid July - mid Aug).

Our hand graded raspberry canes are raised on selected sites in the UK, inspected by DEFRA for pests and diseases and certified under the Plant Health Propagation Scheme (PHPS). Raspberry canes are available from late November to late April.

Don't forget to include a Gripple Wire Tensioning Kit on your order, the easy way to support raspberry canes.  For better establishment we strongly advise using Rootgrow when planting (as recommended in RHS planting guidelines).

Strawberry Plants 'Malling Centenary' (10 SuperCrowns)
£21.50 inc. p&pStrawberry Plants 'Malling Centenary' (10 SuperCrowns)Bred in the UK by East Malling Research, this new variety was chosen to mark the 100th anniversary of the research station in 2013 and is considered to be the British strawberry of the future! Bred for the supermarkets but with the aim of putting flavour back into the berry, it has a unique combination of outstanding taste, heavy yields and good shelf life. The fruits are very juicy and the eating quality is consistently good with high sugar levels and an excellent strawberry flavour. We think that Malling Centenary also has great potential as a garden variety - Michelin-starred chef Michel Roux Jr. was certainly impressed with the flavour when he was filmed tasting the fruit for the BBC's Great British Food Revival and the variety was shortlisted for 'Plant of the Year' at the 2013 Chelsea Flower Show.Buy Now
