Cherries are an expensive luxury in the shops so it makes perfect sense to grow your own. In the past cherries were renowned for their excessive vigour, making them inappropriate for small gardens but with the use of modern rootstocks that is no longer the case. Our cherry trees are grafted onto Colt semi-dwarfing rootstock, which will produce a tree of medium vigour that can be trained as a bush, cordon or fan against a wall or fence. Bush cherry trees will grow 2.4-3.6m (8-12ft) in height and spread. Cordons should be restricted to 1.8-2.4m (6-8ft) in height and can be spaced 90cm (3ft) apart. We offer a range of cherries that are suitable for smaller gardens throughout the U.K. Choose a sunny, sheltered spot. Container grown cherry trees are 1.2-1.5m (4-5ft) high on despatch. Trees are available from May to late August.

Don't forget to include tree stakes and ties on your order. All young fruit trees require staking and for better establishment we strongly advise using Rootgrow when planting (as recommended in RHS planting guidelines).
