Cherries are an expensive luxury in the shops so it makes perfect sense to grow your own. In the past cherries were renowned for their excessive vigour, making them inappropriate for small gardens but with the use of modern rootstocks that is no longer the case. Our cherry trees are grafted onto Colt semi-dwarfing rootstock, which will produce a tree of medium vigour that is easy to grow, easy to control and easy to pick. Bush cherry trees will grow 2.4-3.6m (8-12ft) in height and spread. Choose a sunny, sheltered spot. Cherry trees are 1.2-1.5m (4-5ft) high on despatch. Pot grown trees are available from April to late August.
Don't forget to include tree stakes and ties on your order. All young fruit trees require staking and for better establishment we strongly advise using Rootgrow when planting (as recommended in RHS planting guidelines).
