Bred in the U.K.  RHS Perfect for Pollinators

Asparagus 'Guelph Eclipse'

NEW! The latest male dominant F1 hybrid to be bred at the University of Guelph, Canada, thrives in cooler conditions. It produces very heavy crops of thick, succulent green spears. Season: early/mid.

RHS Perfect for Pollinators

Asparagus 'Vittorio'

NEW! It is the eating quality that sets this male dominant F1 hybrid apart from many other varieties. The green spears are of medium thickness, low in fibre and have an excellent flavour. It can also be grown as white asparagus if the plants are covered with a mound of sandy soil and harvested before they push through the ground. Very heavy cropping and disease resistant. Season: early.

RHS Perfect for Pollinators

Available for delivery: late March - late May.

Asparagus is expensive to buy in the shops but is easy to grow and tastes delicious freshly harvested from the garden. In our opinion there is no other vegetable that beats home-grown asparagus, simply steamed and served with melted butter or Hollondaise sauce. We supply one year old hand selected "Grade A" asparagus plants which will establish quickly so that you can harvest your first crop just one year after planting. Once established 12 asparagus crowns will produce up to 10kg (22lb) annually for 12 years or more. Plants should be spaced 38cm (15in) apart in rows 1m (3ft) apart. Available from late March to late May.

Rhubarb 'Thompson's Terrifically Tasty' (3 crowns)
£15.50Rhubarb 'Thompson's Terrifically Tasty' (3 crowns)This aptly named variety goes back more than 80 years to the village of Great Oakley in Essex. It has been selected year on year and replanted by the Thompsons, who grow rhubarb commercially for sale into the London wholesale markets. It's great attribute is that it is the very first outdoor rhubarb on the market, as early as February, which means that it competes with the forced 'Golden Triangle' rhubarb but without all the bother of harvesting in the cellar with a candle on your head! In the first New Year flush the stems are shortish but thick and plentiful. The second crop in mid summer is an altogether larger stem of fine mid red colour. The flavour is delicious and when cooked with a handful of elderflowers makes a superb dessert.Buy Now
