Peach & Nectarine Trees

As garden fruits, peaches and nectarines have plenty going for them. The spring blossom is beautiful and the fruits picked straight from the tree are deliciously sweet and ‘run down your chin’ juicy. They are best grown as a fan on a sunny south or south-west facing wall, although peaches can also be grown as free standing bushes in favourable areas. When mature, you can expect to harvest 15-30lbs (7-14kg) of fruit from a fan trained tree and twice that amount from a bush tree.

Our peaches and nectarines are grown on the new Montclair semi-dwarfing rootstock which will restrict the size of the tree whilst improving yield and fruit size. A bush tree will grow 3.6m (12ft) in height and spread. A fan will grow to the height of a 1.9m (6ft) fence panel and 3.6m (12ft) wide. Unless otherwise stated, peaches and nectarines are supplied as one year old bare root maidens suitable for training and will be 1.2-1.5m (4-5ft) high on despatch (including the roots).
