Plum, Gage & Damson Trees (Pot Grown)

Plums, gages and damsons are a wonderful choice of tree to grow in the garden as in favourable conditions they will crop reliably, producing masses of fruit year after year. Our plum trees are grafted onto St. Julien ‘A’ rootstock, which will produce a tree with medium vigour. Bush plum trees will grow 3.6-4.6m (12-15ft) in height and spread. Choose a sunny, sheltered spot. Plum trees are 1.2-1.5m (4-5ft) high on despatch. Pot grown trees are available from April to late August.

Don't forget to include tree stakes and ties on your order.  All young fruit trees require staking and for better establishment we strongly advise using Rootgrow when planting (as recommended in RHS planting guidelines).

(image for) Sibley's Patio Gage 'Oullins Golden Gage'
£49.95Sibley's Patio Gage 'Oullins Golden Gage'This patio version of Oullins Golden Gage has been developed by fruit authority Will Sibley, who has for many years been working on a range of fruit trees for the home gardener. It has been grafted onto VVA1 dwarfing rootstock using special grafting techniques to keep the tree even more compact. Rated by the Victorian writer Hogg as having "exquisite flavour and handsome appearance," this old French variety is more like a plum than a true gage. The fruits are large by gage standards and particularly attractive - golden yellow with faint red spots. Eaten fresh, the flesh is sweet and gage-like with a fruity flavour, far superior to most shop-bought plums. The fruits are also excellent cooked and freeze very well. An excellent choice for the garden, the tree crops reliably countrywide, even in poor summers. Can be kept restricted to a height of 1.2m (4ft).Buy Now
