Lycium barbarum

Currently the most popular super fruit! The orange-red berries can be eaten fresh or dried and are delicious added to breakfast cereals for a healthy start to the day. Extremely hardy and tolerant to drought and salt winds.

Pollination: Self-fertile.

Season: August - October.

First introduced to the UK in the 17th century, goji berries are one of the most popular super fruits. The orange-red berries can be eaten fresh or dried and added to breakfast cereals for a healthy start to the day. They are ready to pick when they turn a vibrant red colour and become slightly soft to the touch. Goji berry bushes are extremely hardy and tolerant to drought and salt winds. A mature plant will produce up to 1kg (2lbs) of fruit and ideally should be allowed to grow to a minimum height of 3-4ft (max. ht 8-10ft). Goji Berry bushes will grow in most well drained soils and prefer a sunny position.

Please note - where we quote a height on despatch, this is measured from the base of the pot.

For better establishment we strongly advise using Rootgrow when planting (as recommended in RHS planting guidelines).
