Blackberry Bush 'Loch Maree'

Blackberry Bush 'Loch Maree' Code: BKB007

£21.95 21.9500 In Stock New

Rubus fruiticosus 'Loch Maree'

The newest arrival from the impressive Loch series produces an unusual, double pink blossom making it both decorative and productive in the garden. The fruit size is similar to Loch Ness but it crops earlier and the berries have a markedly superior flavour. The thornless canes are semi-erect and fairly vigorous. Plant 1.8m (6ft) apart.

Bred in the U.K.  RHS Perfect for Pollinators

Season: mid July - late Aug.

Plant size: 3 litre pot.

Available for delivery: all year.

Blackberries and hybrid berries (arising from crosses between raspberries and blackberries) will thrive under a wide range of site and soil conditions and need not take up much room in your garden. They will tolerate sun or shade and are useful for covering a north facing wall, trellis or fence. With a selection of different varieties it is possible to harvest fruit from early July until the autumn. Although bursting with flavour when eaten fresh, surplus fruit freezes well and can be used to make excellent jam and crumbles! Trained plants can grow and be maintained to a height of 1.5-1.8m (5-6ft) and should be planted 1.8-2.4m (6-8ft) apart. Pot grown blackberry bushes are available for despatch throughout the year.

Don't forget to include a Gripple Wire Tensioning Kit on your order, the easy way to support blackberry bushes.  For better establishment we strongly advise using Rootgrow when planting (as recommended in RHS planting guidelines).
