Description

Fragaria x ananassa 'Vibrant'

A fantastic new early variety to start the season! Bred and selected by East Malling Research, Vibrant has rapidly become established amongst commercial growers as the premier early variety and is an excellent choice for the garden. Vibrant produces medium to large bright red berries that are very sweet and flavoursome to taste. The plants are heavy cropping and resistant to powdery mildew and crown rot. Double cropping in the main crop year can occur if July temperatures are relatively low with surprisingly good fruit being produced in September.

Bred in the U.K.  RHS Award of Garden Merit  RHS Perfect for Pollinators

Season: early Summer (June - early July).

Pre-Order for delivery mid/late April.

If you have ever grown your own strawberries before you will know that the aroma and flavour is far superior to that of shop bought fruit. What’s more, they take up a minimum amount of room and are easy to grow. All they require is a sunny, sheltered spot. Plants can be spaced 30cm (12in) apart in the open ground. Alternatively they can be grown in growbags (10 plants per growbag), or in hanging baskets or containers.

Our hand graded strawberry plants are raised on selected sites in the UK under the Plant Health Propagation Scheme (PHPS) and are guaranteed to be free from pests and diseases.

Unless otherwise stated in the product description, fresh dug strawberry runners are available from mid October to late November and will crop the following season. Coldstored strawberry plants are available from March to early July. These will crop 60-90 days after planting. Please note, some varieties (where stated in the product description) are only available as coldstored plants.

(image for) Speed Feed Growbag Irrigator (pack of 2)
£24.95 inc. p&pSpeed Feed Growbag Irrigator (pack of 2)Growbags are great, but they can be a real nuisance to feed and water - you can never be sure that all the compost has been properly wetted. Large watering holes cut into the bag lead to loss of humidity and temperature - and messy compost splashes out when you water. Speed Feed solves all of these problems. The perforated watering tube slides neatly into the end of the growbag, fitting snugly above the compost. Just fill the easy to reach reservoir for thorough, even distribution of water and feed throughout the bag. Speed Feed fits a standard 1m growbag.Buy Now

Gage Tree 'Oullins Golden Gage'Rated by the Victorian writer Hogg as having "exquisite flavour and handsome appearance," this old French variety is more like a plum than a true gage. The fruits are large by gage standards and particularly attractive - golden yellow with faint red spots. Eaten fresh, the flesh is sweet and gage-like with a fruity flavour, far superior to most shop-bought plums. The fruits are also excellent cooked and freeze very well. An excellent choice for the garden, the tree crops reliably countrywide, even in poor summers.Buy Now
