This collection consists of 18 asparagus crowns, 6 each of the following:

Asparagus 'Gijnlim' F1

Our best selling variety of asparagus. This all male F1 hybrid is also a favourite with commercial growers as it produces heavy crops very early in the season. Disease resistant and reliable, it does well on sandy and clay soils. The green spears are of medium thickness and have good flavour. Season: early.

RHS Award of Garden Merit  RHS Perfect for Pollinators

Asparagus 'Erasmus' F1

NEW! The first all-male purple asparagus variety. Specifically bred for the British climate this F1 hybrid was selected for its superior yield, producing 2-3 times as many spears as most other purple varieties. The dark purple spears are rich in antioxidants and the low fibre content means the spears are exceptionally tender even when eaten raw, with virtually no waste at the base. Delicious when cooked but also a very attractive and tasty addition to salads. Season: mid.

 RHS Perfect for Pollinators

Asparagus 'Raffaelo' F1

NEW! This all male F1 hybrid stands out for its ability to produce heavy crops of uniform, thick green spears in July, much later than other existing varieties. The spear diameter is typically 20-26mm and the flavour is excellent. It is also well suited to white asparagus production when grown under a mound of sandy soil. The plants are vigorous and have good resistance to leaf diseases. Season:  very late.

RHS Perfect for Pollinators

Asparagus is expensive to buy in the shops but is easy to grow and tastes delicious freshly harvested from the garden. In our opinion there is no other vegetable that beats home-grown asparagus, simply steamed and served with melted butter or Hollondaise sauce. We supply large one year old crowns which will establish quickly so that you can harvest your first crop (we recommend only sparingly) just one year after planting. Plants should be spaced 38cm (15in) apart in rows 1m (3ft) apart.

(image for) Sibley's Patio Pear 'Red Williams'
£55.95 inc. p&pSibley's Patio Pear 'Red Williams'A red sport of the famous Williams’ Bon Chretien pear, also known as the Red Bartlett pear. Red Williams' has all the taste of Williams’ Bon Chretien, but rather then the pale yellow skin, it has a prominent red flush and picks about 5 days later than Williams'. The leaf colour also has a red hue, giving it a most attractive appearance. Apart from the fruit colour, the most notable difference between it and it’s better known brother is that Red Williams is considerably more dwarfing than Williams' Bon Chretien. This naturally compact growing habit makes it ideal for growing in a pot or in a border where space is restricted. This patio tree has been grafted onto Quince 'C' rootstock and can be kept restricted to a height of 1.2m (4ft).Buy Now
