Blackberry Bush 'Tiny Black' Code: BKB017

£19.95 19.9500 In Stock New

Rubus 'Tiny Black'

A new compact blackberry that is ideal for growing in containers on a patio. It produces heavy crops of medium sized shiny berries that have a traditional blackberry flavour - the perfect balance of sweet and sour. The canes are very hardy and completely thornless. The plant will reach a maximum height and spread of 50cm (18in).

RHS Perfect for Pollinators

Season: July - Aug.

Plant size: 3 litre pot.

Available for delivery: all year.

Blackberries and hybrid berries (arising from crosses between raspberries and blackberries) will thrive under a wide range of site and soil conditions and need not take up much room in your garden. They will tolerate sun or shade and are useful for covering a north facing wall, trellis or fence. With a selection of different varieties it is possible to harvest fruit from early July until the autumn. Although bursting with flavour when eaten fresh, surplus fruit freezes well and can be used to make excellent jam and crumbles! Trained plants can grow and be maintained to a height of 1.5-1.8m (5-6ft) and should be planted 1.8-2.4m (6-8ft) apart. Pot grown blackberry bushes are available for despatch throughout the year.

Don't forget to include a Gripple Wire Tensioning Kit on your order, the easy way to support blackberry bushes.  For better establishment we strongly advise using Rootgrow when planting (as recommended in RHS planting guidelines).
