Grape vines have been grown in Britain since Roman times. They are very hardy plants that require only a small amount of space and can be planted along a south facing wall or fence or trained over an arch or pergola. They are decorative as well as productive and with the introduction of modern varieties it is now possible to plant grapes outside in most UK areas that can be used for eating fresh or making wine. Vines should be planted 1.2-1.5m (4-5ft) apart.

Please note - where we quote a height on despatch, this is measured from the base of the pot.

Don't forget to include a Gripple Wire Tensioning Kit on your order, the easy way to support grape vines.  For better establishment we strongly advise using Rootgrow when planting (as recommended in RHS planting guidelines).

My "Regent" vine is now in its fifth year. It been very vigorous and easy to grow. I have just (September 4th 2025) made a first 5l batch of red wine, the juice having a specific gravity (OG) of 1086, which is incredible. No sugar needed. The grapes are very sweet, delicious and plentiful.

I ordered 2 Regent Grape vines after consulting with Pomona Fruits who advised this grape variety for both eating and wine making. I was very pleased with the communication by the company and as to the expected delivery date of the vines. They came well packaged, in good health and with clear propagating and pruning instructions. Thank you.

(image for) Quince Tree 'Portugal'
£34.95Quince Tree 'Portugal'This variety is generally considered the best flavoured of all quinces. The fruits are large and ripen to yellow-orange and the flesh turns red when cooked. They have a soft texture and mild flavour which makes them ideal for making quince marmalade and jelly. The tree is taller and more vigorous than other cultivated varieties, but is less hardy and therefore more suited to warmer areas. In cooler areas it should be grown as an espalier against a warm wall.Buy Now
