Summer Strawberry Plant Collection (18 plants)

Summer Strawberry Plant Collection (18 plants)

Summer Strawberry Plant Collection (18 plants) Code: STR910

£27.95 inc. p&p 27.9500 In Stock New

Grow your own delicious strawberries. Planted before the end of July, you will reap your first harvest this summer!  This collection consists of 18 summer fruiting strawberry plants, 6 each of the following:

Strawberry Vibrant (early)

A fantastic new early variety to start the season! Bred and selected by East Malling Research, Vibrant has rapidly become established amongst commercial growers as the premier early variety and is an excellent choice for the garden. Vibrant produces medium to large bright red berries that are very sweet and flavoursome to taste. The plants are heavy cropping and resistant to powdery mildew and crown rot. Double cropping in the main crop year can occur if July temperatures are relatively low with surprisingly good fruit being produced in September.

Bred in the U.K.  RHS Award of Garden Merit  RHS Perfect for Pollinators

Strawberry Elegance (mid)

This new summer fruiting strawberry produces very heavy crops of large, glossy fruits with a wonderful sweet strawberry taste and a juicy, pleasant texture. In trials it proved to be the heaviest cropping variety.

Bred in the U.K.  RHS Perfect for Pollinators

Strawberry Fenella (late)

This new late summer strawberry is possibly the perfect variety! It offers an exciting combination of heavy yields, quality fruit and very good disease resistance. The large glossy berries have an excellent, distinctive sweet flavour and are mildly aromatic. In trials it has shown very good resistance to verticillium wilt and crown rot and the fruit can tolerate very heavy rain.

Available for delivery: mid October - late November (fresh dug plants), March - early July (coldstored plants).

If you have ever grown your own strawberries before you will know that the aroma and flavour is far superior to that of shop bought fruit. What’s more, they take up a minimum amount of room and are easy to grow. All they require is a sunny, sheltered spot. Plants can be spaced 30cm (12in) apart in the open ground. Alternatively they can be grown in growbags (10 plants per growbag), or in hanging baskets or containers.

Our hand graded strawberry plants are raised on selected sites in the UK under the Plant Health Propagation Scheme (PHPS) and are guaranteed to be free from pests and diseases.

Fresh dug strawberry runners are available from mid October to late November and will crop the following season. Coldstored strawberry plants are available from March to early July. These will crop 60-90 days after planting. Please note, some varieties (where stated in the product description) are only available as coldstored plants.
