(image for) Rootgrow (150g Granules)
£7.95 inc. p&pRootgrow (150g Granules)For better establishment, naturally healthier plants, better drought resistance and stronger flowering and fruiting, rootgrow™ is all you need. Mycorrhizal fungi will colonise the plant and develop into a huge secondary root system that will increase the root area of your plants by up to 700 times in just a few weeks. This will help the plant find essential nutrients, minerals and moisture, enabling the plant to establish quicker and reducing the risk of failure.Buy Now

Rheum hybridum 'Stockbridge Arrow'

Bred in Yorkshire, this late season rhubarb is the most highly rated variety to have been released by the HRI Stockbridge House breeding programme. It is reported to produce the highest quality rhubarb of any variety when grown outdoors. The stems are long, thick and evenly sized and have an attractive dark red skin and distinctive arrow shaped leaves. The flavour is sweet and delicious. It produces heavy yields over a long harvest period from April to June and is also ideal for forcing to produce an earlier crop.

Rhubarb is delicious in desserts and as it is so easy to grow and takes up very little room it deserves a place in every garden. The plants will tolerate full sun or partial shade, but it is important to make sure they are planted in a well-drained soil. It is equally suited to container growing.

Large hand selected rhubarb crowns are available when they are dormant (from mid October until March) and 3 litre potted plants are usually available for planting all year.

For better establishment we strongly advise using Rootgrow when planting (as recommended in RHS planting guidelines).

(image for) Raspberry Beetle Trap
£26.95 inc. p&pRaspberry Beetle TrapRaspberry Beetle is a serious pest of raspberries and sometimes blackberries and loganberries. The maggots burrow into the berries to feed on the plug and often go undetected until the fruit is picked. These innovative funnel traps should be placed in the garden in the spring, 4-6 weeks before the first flowers appear. The funnel trap is designed so that adult beetles, attracted by the incorporated attractant lure and colour of the cross vanes (simulating a giant raspberry flower), fall into the funnel shaped catchment area down into the holding bucket below, which is filled with soapy water to prevent them from escaping.Buy Now
