Pollination: Group B.

Season: Oct - Dec.

Tree Form: Stepover.

Available for delivery: from late November/December 2019.

Stepovers are ideal for planting at the front of ornamental borders and vegetable plots to form a low edging that is both attractive and productive. Cultivated since Victorian times, they are basically one tier espaliers that are low enough to simply ‘step over’ where necessary. Stepovers are supplied in a ‘Y’ shape with two main shoots that can be trained out in opposite directions at about 45-60cm (18-24in) above the ground. On receipt you will need to tie the arms down gradually (in several stages) to a horizontal supporting framework (not supplied). Allow 2.4-3.5m (8-12ft) total spread per tree. Trees are available from late November to late April.

We are now taking orders for Autumn 2019 delivery.

Don't forget to include a Gripple Wire Tensioning Kit on your order, the easy way to support stepover fruit trees. For better establishment we strongly advise using Rootgrow when planting (as recommended in RHS planting guidelines).

Strawberry Plants 'Malling Centenary' (10 SuperCrowns)
£19.95 inc. p&pStrawberry Plants 'Malling Centenary' (10 SuperCrowns)Bred in the UK by East Malling Research, this new variety was chosen to mark the 100th anniversary of the research station in 2013 and is considered to be the British strawberry of the future! Bred for the supermarkets but with the aim of putting flavour back into the berry, it has a unique combination of outstanding taste, heavy yields and good shelf life. The fruits are very juicy and the eating quality is consistently good with high sugar levels and an excellent strawberry flavour. We think that Malling Centenary also has great potential as a garden variety - Michelin-starred chef Michel Roux Jr. was certainly impressed with the flavour when he was filmed tasting the fruit for the BBC's Great British Food Revival and the variety was shortlisted for 'Plant of the Year' at the 2013 Chelsea Flower Show.Buy Now
Blackberry Bush 'Reuben'
£15.95Blackberry Bush 'Reuben'The world's first primocane blackberry (cropping on first year growth) also happens to produce the biggest, sweetest fruits we have ever seen! With a berry weight of up to 14g, the fruits are twice the size of most other varieties. Sweeter than strawberries and full of juice, the fruits taste fantastic picked fresh from the bush. Because of its primocane habit there is the potential to get two crops every year - a summer crop on the old canes and a later crop on the current season's growth. The bush is compact with an upright habit and can be grown in a large container or in the open ground. It is easy to grow, very reliable and loses its spines as it matures. Plant 75cm (2ft 6in) apart.Buy Now
