It produces medium-large greenish-yellow, red-flushed fruits that are often covered in russet. When cooked it is well-flavoured, hardly needing any sugar. It will cook to a thick, golden puree but the slices will hold their shape in a continental-style apple pie or flan. Eaten fresh, the fruits are quite sharp with a very firm texture.
